UJOA Updates Deputy Chief Justice On Its Activities, Extends Invitation to End-Of-Year Dinner

Earlier today, the Executive of the Uganda Judicial Officers Association (UJOA), led by its President, Lady Justice Olive Kazaarwe Mukwaya, paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Chief Justice, Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija, at the Court of Appeal in Kampala.
The meeting aimed to congratulate the Deputy Chief Justice on his elevation to that position, update him on the Association's ongoing activities, and formally invite him to the UJOA End-of-Year Dinner scheduled for 21st November 2025.
In his remarks, Justice Dr. Zeija thanked the UJOA leadership for their visit and congratulatory message. He appreciated the Association's continued cooperation with the Judiciary leadership and reaffirmed his support for its initiatives. The Deputy Chief Justice also welcomed the idea of recording a message for a documentary to be premiered during the dinner and pledged to support the event’s success.
Lady Justice Kazaarwe expressed gratitude to the Deputy Chief Justice for granting audience to the team and for his consistent support to the Association. She briefed him on the ongoing preparations for the End-of-Year Dinner and extended appreciation to the Judiciary for its steadfast partnership with UJOA. She also requested the Deputy Chief Justice to deliver a presentation at the forthcoming East Africa Magistrates and Judges Association (EAMJA) Conference, to be held in December2025 in Nairobi, on the theme "Multiple Options for the Delivery of Justice," with a focus on mediation as a key tool for enhancing access to justice.
UJOA Vice President, HW Ayebare Daphine, shared that the dinner will feature a documentary showcasing UJOA's achievements and the vital role of judicial officers in advancing justice delivery. She invited the Deputy Chief Justice to contribute a recorded message of encouragement reflecting on the ideals and values of judicial service. Other members of the Executive thanked the Deputy Chief Justice for his openness, accessibility, and unwavering support to the Association.
Those present included HW Conrad Obol Oroya, HW Praise Ahurira, HW Mallen Obizu, HW Sarah Tusiime Barungi, and HW Waidhuba John Stephen. Also in attendance was HW Dr. Alex Mushabe Karocho, Private Legal Secretary to the Deputy Chief Justice.
